Less Than a Week!
It's only 5 days until the ReelHeART International Film Festival gets underway here in Toronto. As the 'Official Closing Venue Film' for RHIFF and hometown lads, we've been hustling hard to promote Confusions of an Unmarried Couple and think it should be a packed house on Saturday, June 21st. Great Review from ROW THREE
As we continue to promote our Toronto Premiere at ReelHeART on June 21 we got a nice push from Kurt Halfyard of Row Three who said watching Confusions is a "refreshingly awarding experience which defies expectations in all the right ways" and draws comparisons to some real heavyweight films and filmmakers, awesome! Flipside Fest Feedback
We try to make it out to as many of our screenings as humanly possible but sometimes it just isn't in the budget. So it's always gratifying to get feedback from organizers when we can't make it. Here's an excerpt from an email we received from Fest Director, Dan Paolantonio about our Flipside (UK) Film Festival screening:
"Your film went down a storm - laughs in all the right places and more than a few remarking that it was one of the coolest films that they had seen in some time!! Seriously, I wanted to say a massive thank you for your support of our festival - we were really honoured to include your film as part of our Official Selection' programme"

DWIFF Style
We've been off the grid the last month or so promoting our hometown premiere like crazy but we got some more good news as Confusions of an Unmarried Couple has been accepted to screen at the end of June at the inaugural Detroit Windsor International Film Festival. Of course, we'll be traveling down for some good times and a Tigers game!
Two Great Reviews
Good news keeps coming fast and furious for our film, as we’ve had 2 very quality reviews come down the pipeline in the last few days. The first one was from James Wegg (a Rotten Tomato critic - nice another freshy) who said "Couples of all persuasions—married, engaged or just kicking the tires—would be well advised to sit down together and venture into the world of Dan and Lisa" - agreed!!
The second excellent review is courtesy of J.C. Macek III, otherwise known as the World’s Greatest Critic whose biggest beef about Confusions was that "that the film leaves the audience wanting one more chapter, or, hell, a whole sequel if necessary" - he even suggested a weekly series! Anyway, check out the review if you get a chance as J.C. has a real way with words.

We got some great news yesterday as Confusions of an Unmarried Couple won for Best Screenplay at the Outhouse Film Festival held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our many thanks to event organizers...wish we could've been there!

Another Fest Selection!
Getting the Love in the UK
Just got word we've been officially selected to screen at the Flipside Film Festival in Plymouth, England. Man, our commonwealth brethren really dig the film and we appreciate it! Don't know about when the fest is happening, yet, but hopefully it lands near the England International Film Fest and we can make a trip of it.
Oh yeah, we've got some other news but we're gonna save it for the time being, so stay tuned...
CONFUSIONS in Outhouse Film Festival

We got some great news yesterday, as Confusions of an Unmarried Couple will be screening in Baton Rouge at the end of the month as part of the Outhouse Film and Video Festival. We've also been nominated for Best Screenplay which is a bonus!
5-Star Review for BUMS!
A nice perk to Confusions of an Unmarried Couple doing so well on the circuit is critics and fans alike are taking an interest in our catalog of brews. Check out this killer review from Anthony Thurber of Film Arcade who was a huge fan of our 2nd feature, Bums, and he didn't even listen to the much lauded commentary!

It's been a long road but Confusions of an Unmarried Couple is officially on Rotten Tomatoes and we're reading 80% on the "Tomatometer" - not too damn bad for a little indie film! If you get a chance check us out and make a comment.
CONFUSIONS at Mid-Valley Video Festival
Oregon Premiere
We've got our screening time for Confusions of an Unmarried Couple at the Mid-Valley Video Festival (www.mvvf.org) in Salem, Oregon and it's a beauty! Not only is it a prime slot at 7:30pm on Saturday but it's at the Northern Lights Pub where they serve beer while you watch!

Confusions at the MIAMI Undergound
Looks like we'll be getting an early reprieve from this crazy winter we're having as Confusions of an Unmarried Couple has been accepted to screen at the Miami Underground Film Festival in March. We don't have a screening time yet but it looks like the venue will be the Miami Beach Cinematheque and the weather won't be snow!

Got some great news that Confusions of an Unmarried Couple won for Best Feature Comedy and Best Actor at the Wreck- Beach International Film Festival, which we attended in August. It turns out that 'The Captain' likes to marinade the films in his mind awhile before making any decisions - and damn if that isn't fine by us! An Ode to the Swansea Trip
Simon Vallee Pens Tune
Last night after watching our buddy's new band, Edgewood Grove, at their debut performance we went back to polish off a few more beers with Simon Vallee at his studio. Simon was our wrangler when we hit the Swansea Bay Film Festival earlier this year. Last night, he played a rough cut of a tune he made in honor of our Welsh experience and it was a most triumphant song - we'll get it up on the site as soon as he cuts the tune. Confusions plays in Asheville, N.C.
Confusions of an Unmarried Couple is screening at the Asheville REJECTS Film Festival this weekend. It's a kick ass underground throw down in the South put on by a couple cool as shit lo-fi filmmaker extraordinaires; John Bennett and Shawn Lukitsch. Nicknamed the Trashville Film Festival, it runs against the city's mainstream fest and runs right over it. With Troma lord and king of trash Lloyd Kaufman being there, this should be a great and grimy party...damn we wish we could be there!
UK Encore!
International Film Festival England Selection
We just received exciting news that Confusions of an Unmarried Couple has been selected to screen at the 2008 International Film Festival of England. This will be our second visit to the UK. In June we screened at the Swansea Bay Film Festival in Wales where Confusions was nominated for Best Film and we were treated to quite a nutty lot of a crowd, many dark ales, and a very healthy nightlife. We will be hoping for more of the same this round, and are looking forward to everything except for the exhange rate!
HELL'S HALF MILE
One Helluva Romp in Bay City
For the weekend of October 11-14th we headed to Bay City, Michigan for the Hell's Half Mile Film and Music Festival. Confusions of an Unmarried Couple had 2 screenings, and the film kicked ass in Hell. We did some good dirty talking Q&A's after the screenings, drank to the wee hours, got our groove on in the Masonic Temple to some kicking bands. A great venue full of bizarre rooms, peepholes, and urinals that were so thin that you needed to be rail thin, or holding one huge schlong to hit the target! In the day time we delivered ourselves crusty as hell to the panel discussion. Thankfully the fest directors were also hung as fuck too, since they were the ones pouring the drinks. Over beers and grub with the Bay Arts Council chief, who schooled with John Malkovich, we exchanged hand-job jokes. All in all exactly what a fest should be!! It will definitely not be our only visit too Bay City. Thanks Alan, Jay, Chris, Kari, and Joy for the great times!!
